As way of announcements, Monday will be a Kid’s Club Potluck, and Friday there will be a fundraiser for Roberta Webb Childcare Center. Saturday the 7th will be our Spring Spruce-Up day, and all are invited to help clean up and make repairs at church or simply to join us for the pizza lunch that follows.
At the start, Steve mentions that he had a title for his message but he decided it was too boring. Listen and feel free to suggest a new title in the comments.
Believe it or not, this isn’t a joke. But it is, kinda. But, well. . .
We celebrated Easter this week with our traditional service that didn’t contain a sermon but rather monologues from the perspectives of people involved in the Biblical story. Those weren’t recorded, but the benediction–in which we carry out the decorated cross and take a photo of our congregation–was well photographed.
If anyone else has photos of Sunday morning, please send them to the church email address and we will include them in a future post.
This week’s message was brought by Aaron Kauffman, President of VMMissions and was entitled “Weakness as Witness.” Scriptures for the morning included Psalm 118, Luke 19:28-40, and 1 Corinthians 1:18-25.
You are welcome to join us on Easter Sunday for sweet breads at 9:45 at the sanctuary followed by a service at 10:30.
The message this week was entitled “Formed to Glorify the LORD in Tears and Shouts of Joy.” It was brought to us by our pastor, Matthew Bucher, and referenced Philippians 3:4b-14, John 12:1-8, and Psalm 126.
This sermon came with homework, (as sermons should, really). This sheet was filled out during the sermon time as a way of reflecting on the past and focusing on the future.
